A New Framework for Measuring Stability During Walking
Falls are a serious public health issue, resulting in tens of thousands of deaths annually and racking up billions of dollars in healthcare costs. Georgia Tech researchers are investigating whether mechanical energy can be used as a “common currency” to measure how humans use lower limbs to stabilize during walking.
