In fiscal year 2021, Georgia Tech’s research enterprise totaled a record $1.2 billion, and we are on track to break that record in fiscal year 2022. Courtney Felinski was already a proud Yellow Jacket when she enrolled in the MBA program in 2021. She played volleyball as an undergraduate and earned her bachelor's degree in 2015. How do you get a group of high school students with minimal exposure to biomechanics to start thinking about a career in research? You put them in a room with Georgia Tech graduate students, a pile of simple raw materials, and tell them they have to build a prosthetic lower limb for a teammate — then get them to race each other.
