Kurfess Selected to Lead GTMI
Georgia Tech has selected Thomas R. Kurfess as the new executive director of the Georgia Tech Manufacturing Institute. Kurfess is the HUSCO/Ramirez Distinguished Chair in Fluid Power and Motion Control and professor of mechanical engineering at Georgia Tech.
South and West Lead the Nation in Multidimensional Poverty
New research from Associate Professor Shatakshee Dhongde in Georgia Tech’s School of Economics finds that people living in California, Texas, and Florida were more likely than other U.S. residents to experience multiple forms of deprivation, such as lack of access to healthcare and affordable housing.
