Study Analyzing Anti-Asian Tweets Shows Online Hate Speech Is Contagious
A team of Georgia Tech researchers has analyzed over 200 million tweets, identifying nearly 1 million users targeting Asian groups. According to the team’s findings, people who followed others who tweeted hateful messages were five times more likely to tweet anti-Asian sentiments.
Goldrush Wins National Championship for Hip Hop
Georgia Tech Goldrush, the official dance team of the Institute, earned the National Dance Association’s national championship in the virtual D1 hip hop division. Goldrush also was awarded third place in the D1A jazz division.
