In celebration of Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month, the Georgia Tech Library is honored to compile a variety of resources related to the history, culture, and study of Asia and the Pacific Islands.
From Refugee to Scholar
At 10 years old, mechanical engineering major Biya Haile began volunteering at automotive garages and working in his dad’s workshop in his hometown of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. But because of corruption and ethnic discrimination, Haile's family immigrated to the United States and worked to build a new life.
Student Group Wins Planning Student Organization Award
The Student Planning Association is comprised of graduate students in the School of City and Regional Planning. This year’s SPA board focused heavily on raising conversations about equity, while building community in a virtual world.
