Working Woke
Angela Rye delivered Georgia Tech's fifth annual Black History Month lecture on Wednesday afternoon. Rye is principal and chief executive officer of IMPACT Strategies, a political advocacy firm in Washington, D.C., as well as a political commentator for CNN and political analyst for NPR. Speaking to an audience largely comprised of students, she said, “We have to work ‘woke.’ We need you to employ all of the knowledge you’ve gained. We need to get to work to truly change our path forward. I would rather hold onto that hope more than anything else.”
