Surveying the Earth
Provost Rafael L. Bras (right) talks with Kenneth Knoespel, McEver Professor of Engineering and the Liberal Arts, at the Gathering of Continents exhibit at the Robert C. Williams Museum of Papermaking. The exhibit features a historic atlas showing early mappings of the earth. “It is a wonderfully well put together exhibit,” said Bras, who is also a map collector. “The Blaeu Atlas represents the best of cartography of the time, the best of paper making, and extraordinarily beautiful illustrations of our world.” The exhibit closes July 10.
